Monique Post is a young woman whose outlook on life is reflective and positive. These aspects have helped her to grow and see the world as a place of opportunities and learning experiences. Her attitude to receiving a diagnosis of autism was one of great relief.   Monique's goal is to never be a patient. Her physical problems are more of a restriction in her daily life, than her autism. Autism has given Monique a place in the world and has enabled her to gain a deeper understanding of herself.     “I am not and will never be a patient.  My autism will never make me suffer like it has prior to my diagnosis.  Autism is my gift, and not a restriction.” Her greatest inspiration is Temple Grandin who has helped change the perception of autism in the world today. Monique aspires to achieve a similar level of changing of perceptions that Temple Grandin has managed. Monique Post has developed a series of lectures/presentations that can be of great value to both community and business world. In her lectures Monique conveys in an inspiring manner what it is like for a person with autism to survive in today’s world. In particular what you can achieve despite having a disability, about using the opportunities you encounter and about alternative ways of thinking. She has given lectures for professionals, social workers and students, in Holland, England and Belgium. These include MEE West Brabant, Het Congres in Arnhem (an educational congress), the 11th National Autism Congress in Rotterdam, InService in Belgium (a two day autism congress for professionals and families) and the United World College of the Atlantic, UK (visiting lecturer). Lectures are also available in combination with a display of her personal artwork (physical or digital). This combination has already proven to be a great success.
